Fans of the Ford Mustang would all
remember the envy that came with the official announcement of the 2015 Dodge Charger
SRT Hellcat with 707bhp. With the standard Mustang said to be pumping out a "meagre"
435hp, the fans all wished and prayed for something to be done about it and
guess what....their prayers were answered.
Well ladies and gentlemen, may we
present to you the 2015 Ford Mustang RTR which has been fully revealed and is
currently being showcased at the 2014 SEMA show at Las Vegas USA.
Developed by Vaughn Gittin Jr. and
the RTR team, the latest iteration of the Mustang RTR is based on the all-new
model and is primarily addressed to those who want a meaner-looking and more
powerful Mustang. Ford’s Mustang team has done an incredible job with the new
2015 Ford Mustang,” says Vaughn. “The RTR team and I are pumped to work with
such an incredible platform for RTR builds. Without a question, the performance
and overall presence of the new Mustang RTR will impress and keep a smile on
our customers’ faces whether cruising the streets or getting crazy on the
track. I cannot take delivery of mine soon enough!”
The
Spec 1 package brings cosmetic changes like a chin spoiler, rear diffuser with
side splitters, upper grille with built-in lighting, rear spoiler, lower grille
and rocker splitters.
Opt
for the Spec 2 package and you also get a variety of power boosts, culminating
with a heavily modified version of the V8 5.0-liter developing as much as 725
bhp (540 kW) via supercharging while an upgrade for the four-cylinder 2.3-liter
EcoBoost engine will also be available. The RTR Spec 2 will also come with
adjustable dampers and sway bars, lowering springs, cold air intake system and
a Magnaflow bespoke exhaust system.
The
2015 Ford Mustang RTR will be available starting January at select Ford dealers
worldwide.
