Mercedes-Benz M-Class Changes Name And Look

Mercedes-Benz via a
nomenclature reshuffling has changed the M-
Class to the GLE-Class, this change is also
accompanied by a new look. The facelifted
SUV now bears the same resemblance as
adopted on newer Mercs.
On the Outside, the changes on the GLE is very
distinct, especially from the front, you can
distinguish the newlights with LED, bumpers,
hood, grille and fenders. From the back you
can pinpoint the redesigned tailpipe, bumper
and LED tail lamps, all these changes are also
enhanced by new roof rail and new alloy wheel
In the cabin you’ll notice a new steering wheel
(the same deployed in the new AMG GT and C-
Class) a 7.0-inch free-standing touch-sensitive
infotainment centre console. New colour
options have been added, they include ginger
beige, espresso brown, saddle brown or
porcelain, along with fresh trim options.
Under the hood, Merc has introduced a plug-in
hybrid GLE 500e 4MATIC a 3.0-liter twin-
turbocharged V6 engine and 114hp (116PS)
electric motor that produce a joint 436hp
(442PS) and 479lb ft or 650Nm of torque with
power being sent to all-four wheels through a
7G-tronic. The driver has settings that enable
him change between four different modes
named “Hybrid”, “E-Mode”, “E-Save” and
Other engine options are the GLE250d,
GLE300d, GLE400,GLE500 and the top of the
range GLE 63 AMG.
