Nissan Maxima premiers at the New York Auto show

We have been anticipating the upcoming Nissan
Maxima for some time, we saw a Super Bowl
commercial earlier on in the year amidst other
reveals and leaks in the past. Finally, the
Maxima has premiered at the New York Auto
Show.
Described by Nissan as a ” 4-Door Sports Car”,
the Maxima’s look is characterised by V-
Motion front end, signature boomerang lights,
kick-up C-pillars and unique floating roof
appearance while the bespoke interior has
class-leading cockpit design.
It’s powered by 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 unlike
previous generation’s 3.5-liter V6. The new
engine produces 300 horsepower with high
specific output of 85.7 horsepower/liter. This
helps it achieve an anticipated 15 percent
increase in highway fuel economy to an EPA
estimated 30 miles per gallon.
Next-gen Technology features include ‘a
standard NissanConnectSM with navigation,
featuring an 8.0-inch touch-screen display,
along with SiriusXM® Satellite Radio and
SiriusXM Travel Link™ applications (Sirius XM
subscription required, sold separately), Online
Search with Google® and other connectivity
features. The NissanConnect system is paired
with a standard 7.0-inch Advanced Drive Assist
Display (ADAD) within the instrument cluster’.
Safety features on offer include ‘an extensive
range of safety, security and driving aids,
including Predictive Forward Collision Warning
(PFCW), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Forward
Emergency Braking (FEB), Rear Cross Traffic
Alert (CTA) and Blind Spot Warning (BSW)’.
There are five grade levels available, they
include SL, SR and Platinum grades, the
Maxima goes on sale in early summer 2015
with price starting at $32,410.
