Peugeot Takes A Swipe AtVolkwagen CC With 408 GT

French automaker has taken a swipe at the
unconventional Volkswagen CC with its own
invention to be called Peugeot 408GT. The
move is seen as a step in a right direction for
Peugeot who are moving further upmarket with
the aim of creating competition for the likes of
Volkswagen CC, Mercedes-Benz CLA and Audi
A5 Sportsback. It is believed that the segment
is growing with a lot of potential.
It is believed that the Peugeot Exalt concept
introduced at the Beijing show last year will
underpin the new 408 GT. Its characterised by
Claw-shaped LED headlights over the flared
arches, short overhangs, chunky C-pillar and
cascading roofline.
It will get same powerplants as the 308,
meaning diesel engines could range from
120bhp to 180bhp, while petrol versions with
up to 267bhp coming from a 1.6-litre four-
cylinder turbo.
