'Silver Ghost': Rolls-Royce Movie Boasts Some Hollywood Heavyweights.

"Silver Ghost" tells the story of the founding of Rolls-Royce, but don't expect a dry documentary feature.

The Rolls-Royce story will get the Hollywood treatment with Martin Scorcese and Anthony Haas producing a film titled "Silver Ghost," Variety reports. The film will be directed by Asif Kapadia and will be set in the early 20th century, telling the story of Charles Rolls and Henry Royce's creation of the luxury marque.

At least that'll be the setting; the film will shine a spotlight on the founders' friend Lord John Douglas-Scott Montagu, his wife, as well as his mistress Eleanor Velasco Thornton. And that's all we're going to mention without spoiling anything else.

Director Kapadia was behind the highly acclaimed 2010 documentary "Senna."

In addition to making a film about the legendary Brazilian F1 driver, Kapadia also directed the award-winning documentary "Amy," centered on the life and death of the British singer Amy Winehouse.

The late director Richard Attenborough, famous for his wildlife documentaries, was originally attached to the the project along with Haas, and had sought a partnership with Scorcese to produce the film a few years ago; Attenborough's death in 2014 put the project into hibernation.

A production start date hasn't been mentioned, so expect a few years' wait before "Silver Dawn" hits theaters.
